On Sunday, we stepped back in time to a world millions of years ago—Jurassic Quest. Life-size dinosaurs, roaring animatronics, fossil digs, and the chance to experience the prehistoric era through my toddler’s eyes? We were all in.
The Magic of Dinosaurs (And a Toddler’s Reaction)
The moment we walked in, my son’s eyes grew wide. He may only be two, but he knew something big (literally) was about to happen. Giant T-Rexes towered over us, triceratops stood proudly in the distance, and the sounds of dinosaurs echoed through the space. He clutched to us in caution and uncertainty, taking it all in.
Then we heard the first big ROAR.

And just like that, we had a stage-five clinger. He latched onto me, burying his face in my shoulder. I could feel him processing it all—the size, the sounds, the fact that these creatures looked way bigger than the ones in his books and cartoons.
But after a few minutes of watching other kids excitedly run around, something shifted. Slowly, curiosity took over, and that was it. He was hooked.
The Highlights of Jurassic Quest

• The Life-Size Dinosaurs – Watching my son go from nervous to fascinated was priceless.
• Fossil Digging – He LOVED this part! Give a toddler a pile of sand and a brush, and they’re in heaven.
• The Dinosaur Rides – Okay, he was not about to get on a moving dino (fair), but he enjoyed watching the older kids ride. Maybe next time!
• Driving the Jurassic Jeep – This was hands-down his favorite part. He climbed into the mini Jeep, gripping the wheel like he was about to take on the wild. The look of pure joy as he “drove” through the Jurassic landscape was priceless. He may not have actually gone anywhere, but in his mind? He was on an epic adventure.
A Core Memory Unlocked

Seeing Jurassic Quest as an adult is cool—but seeing it through my toddler’s eyes? Unforgettable. Watching his mix of wonder, excitement, and (let’s be real) slight fear reminded me why these little experiences matter so much.
One day, he won’t remember the exact details of this trip. But I hope he always carries that spark of curiosity, that feeling of stepping into something bigger than himself, and the excitement of discovering a world beyond his own.
As for me? I’ll never forget the way he clung to us during the first roar—only to be roaring back by the end.
Would We Go Again?
Absolutely. And next time, maybe we’ll even get him on that dino ride.
Have you ever taken your little one to see dinosaurs? Tell me about your experience!
